Did you ever hear the story of the boy that cried wolf,
              G           A              D    G-A-D
Just to get attention, he kept on crying wolf,
A                   D
And the people they all cried and ran,
A                       D
And the farmers locked away all their lambs,
A                 D                          G      A           D
And the boy just smiled and said, there's no danger, I'm crying wolf.

Well I must admit I'm just the same, I've been playing boyish games,
                    G      A      D                    G          A  D
I cried in front of all my friends, I cried to hide my wolfish grin.

A    G-D                  A     G-D
And I've been crying wolf, and I've been stalking lambs,
A    G-D                                G       A            D   G-A-D
But you, you must understand, there's no danger, from crying wolf.

Then one day a real wolf came, the boy cried out but all in vain,
                      G          A D                  G             A  D
And in thanks for his silly tricks, it ate him up and licked its lips.

A    G-D                  A     G-D
And I've been crying wolf, and I'm in danger now,
A    G-D                     G               A       D  G-A-D-G-A-D
A real wolf just showed me how much it hurts, crying wolf.
